A healthy diet is a balanced diet, from which products that are harmful and useless for the body are excluded. Trying to create a balanced menu and eat right, we often make mistakes in the selection of products. Which foods have no place in a healthy diet? We will help you learn about it in this article.

Which Foods To Avoid?

Here is the list of foods you must avoid in a healthy diet.

Low-Fat Products

We often hear that fatty foods are harmful to both the figure and health in general. Trying to keep a slim figure, many people buy only fat-free products. But are they useful? Fat-free and low-calorie foods do not mean they are healthy foods.

It is important to remember that some essential vitamins for the body, for example, A, E, and B, are fat-soluble. Therefore, they do not get absorbed without fat. The same applies to calcium. Thus, with low-fat dairy products, you simply satisfy your hunger, but do not bring many benefits to the body.

When it comes to low-calorie foods, not all foods labeled dietary are the same. For example, cottage cheese desserts, yogurts, diet bars, and instant cereals may contain sugar, starch, dyes, flavor enhancers, and palm oil. When choosing such products, be sure to look at the composition.

Alcohol

Frequent consumption of alcohol can cause serious health problems, such as cardiovascular diseases and certain cancers. If a person continues to abuse this toxic beverage, it can even lead to memory problems and liver diseases. Therefore, those who strive to live a healthy life by following a healthy diet should quit alcohol.

Ready-Made Smoothies

Vegetable and fruit smoothies are very fashionable drinks today, but you should not abuse them. So, making a smoothie involves chopping vegetables and fruits with a blender. But such food increases the risk of overheating. That is why you should not treat smoothies as drinks, but as a complete food. Waking up dizzy and giving yourself a shot of ready made smoothies would actually make your day.

If you include it in the menu, then use it as an independent dish; otherwise, there will be overeating. The benefits of a smoothie can only be discussed if sugar, syrup, and other simple carbohydrates are not added to it. It is better to refuse purchased smoothies because they are far from natural completely. Most of them contain sugar, dyes, flavor enhancers, and preservatives.

Sausages

Sausages and other meat products from processed meat are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARG) as products with carcinogenic activity. So, the pink color of the sausage is the merit of sodium nitrite or potassium nitrite. You can’t do without them, because they prevent the development of botulism pathogens in the product.

When ingested, these substances can turn into carcinogenic nitrosamines. Sausage consists of pork skins and lard, offal, salt, preservatives, flavors, starch, salt, and transgenic soybeans. Such a composition suggests that it is better to abstain from sausages in the daily diet.

Canned Food

A person who adheres to the principles of a healthy diet does not need canned food. This is because they retain their nutritional suitability due to a large amount of salt, sugar, and acetic acid.

Due to the abundance of salt, people with problems with the genitourinary and cardiovascular systems should not consume canned food. You should keep in mind that even healthy people do not need such an amount of salt, so it’s better to avoid such food.

Dried Bananas

Many adherents of a healthy diet replace candy with dried fruits, which are healthy. However, keep in mind that they are high in sugar and calories, especially if they are dried bananas. A 100 grams of bananas contain 88.3 grams of carbohydrates. If you use them in handfuls, then they will be equal to an impressive piece of cake in terms of calories.

Gluten-Free Processed Foods

To avoid gluten, many people opt for unhealthy gluten-free foods. Such products are often loaded with high-glycemic starch, instead of healthy gluten. This is mainly true for many processed foods, for example, these are yogurts and ice cream. You can choose unprocessed animal and plant foods instead.

Processed Cheese

When choosing processed cheese, be sure to study the composition. Many types of such cheese are not cheese at all, but remnants of cheese that contain palm or rapeseed oil. Remember that real processed cheese should not contain vegetable fats. You should exclude a product with this composition from the diet.

Sweet Carbonated Drinks

Sweet soda is an abundance of sugar that violates daily intake. Sugar refers to fast carbohydrates; its abuse can lead to obesity. Carbonated water contains carbon dioxide, which stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid and irritates the stomach lining. Many people have the illusion that packaged juice is more beneficial than carbonated drinks.

But it also has the same abundance of sugar. A glass of juices restored from concentrate contains 4-6 teaspoons of sugar, which is even more than in Coca-Cola, and an almost complete absence of fiber. By the way, often juices marked sugar-free are even more harmful because they contain artificial sweeteners instead of sugar.

Mayonnaise And Ketchup

Sauces loved by many, such as mayonnaise and ketchup, are an abundance of dyes, flavor enhancers, and stabilizers. Almost a fifth of ketchup consists of sugar, and mayonnaise under the general name “vegetable oil” most often hides palm oil. So, if the label says “olive”, then, as a rule, olive oil is present in the product in a minimal amount, while most of it is palm oil.

Store-bought mayonnaise, as well as mayonnaise-based sauces with various flavors, are nothing more than a high concentration of saturated fats. It leads to weight gain and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
